Gold Pan Excursions
The
first Spanish explorers discovered that the island of Hispaniola was rich in
gold. While centuries have passed since then, gold is still mined and found
in the Dominican Republic. Only twenty minutes from the Ranch, a mining
operation is running today finding gold in the nearby mountains. We started
this particular tour after a guest with an interest in gold panning found
gold in our nearby streams.
On your excursion, around 4 hours, you will hike through the woods to the
streams that make their long journey from atop the mountainside. We'll stop
at these streams to pan, enjoy the shade of bamboo and fruit trees and have
fun. We'll stop at a series of waterfalls where you can pan for gold, have
lunch and go swimming.

Includes pan, guide, lunch and the gold you find you keep. Hiking is
required, and you will need to cross flowing streams and a suspended bamboo
stream.
